SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE SUPPORT

Your systems, looked after for the long haul

Air conditioning and heating aren’t set-and-forget. They’re mechanical systems doing hard work, day after day. Without regular care, they run harder, cost more, and break down sooner.

At TruEast, we don’t disappear after the install. We stick around, service what we’ve fitted, and look after other people’s systems too. Homes, offices, schools, and everything in between.

Fast callouts. Straight answers. Systems that keep going.

What’s actually in a service visit

A lot of people book a service without really knowing what happens next. Here’s what a standard visit from TruEast looks like.

Full system inspection

We check the unit inside and out. Compressor, motors, coils, ductwork, controls. Anything unusual gets flagged.

Clean and replace filters

Dirty filters kill efficiency and dust up the house. We clean or replace them, depending on what the system needs.

Check refrigerant levels

Low refrigerant means poor cooling and higher power bills. We top up if needed and check for leaks.

Repair or replace? How to know when it’s time

Not every breakdown means it’s time for a new system. But not every system is worth saving either. Here’s how we think about it.

Age of the system

Most air conditioners and heaters last 10 to 15 years. Anything past that, and repairs get expensive fast.

Cost of the repair

If the fix costs more than half a new install, replacement usually makes more sense.

How often it’s breaking down

One issue is bad luck. Three in a year is a system telling you it’s tired.

Efficiency and running costs

Old systems can cost double to run compared to modern ones. Sometimes the power bill savings pay for the upgrade.

Refrigerant type

Some older systems use refrigerants that are no longer manufactured. Repairs get harder and pricier every year.

We won’t push you toward a new install if a repair will do the job. But if it’s time, we’ll say so honestly and walk you through the options, including Victorian Energy Upgrades rebates that can take a big chunk off the price.

Reactive fixes cost more, take longer, and always seem to happen on the worst possible day. Our maintenance programs shift the balance.

Regular servicing extends equipment life, keeps everything efficient, and saves on energy bills. Most importantly, it means fewer surprises. One home split system or fifty commercial units, we tailor a plan that fits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How often should my air conditioning or heating system be serviced?

Most manufacturers recommend a service at least once a year. For commercial systems or heavy use, twice a year is often better. Gas heaters need a safety check every two years, and more often for older units.

  • Do you only service systems you’ve installed?

No. We service almost any brand or system, whether we fitted it or not. Split, ducted, commercial, hydronic. If it moves air or gas, we can look at it.

  • Will a service actually save me money?

Yes, usually. A well-maintained system runs more efficiently, uses less power, and lasts years longer. You also avoid the biggest cost of all: an emergency callout when the system fails on a 40-degree day.

  • What if you find something bigger than a service?

We tell you straight up. Clear explanation, honest quote, and no pressure. You choose whether to go ahead. If you don’t, we still complete the service and leave you to think about it.

  • Can I set up a regular maintenance plan?

Yes. We build plans for homeowners who want annual peace of mind, and larger plans for schools, offices, gyms, and property managers. Get in touch and we’ll design one that fits.

  • Are your technicians licensed to work on gas heaters?

Yes. Every technician holds current gas licences, so they can carry out safety checks, service, and repair work on gas heating systems.

Stop worrying about who to call when something goes wrong. With TruEast, you get a local team that knows your system, remembers your setup, and turns up when you need them.
